Discussions about BMW vehicles

I read a post from a Mercedes owner who said that the Mercedes was a better car
 but, in addition to several other advantages, the BMW drove better.  I have a
 325i and the reason I bought it is because I love to drive it.  My mom owns a
 ’97 E320 which I helped her select – she had a 740i but likes the MB better.

I don’t know if you can really call one superior.  I find the BMW vastly more
 engaging to drive.  The MB is fun but a little sedate – numb steering & ride,
 damped responses to driver input.  MB has a better reputation for quality but
 my family has owned 2 Mercedes and 4 BMWs and we have not seen a huge
 difference in quality – both are excellent.  I believe they are designed with
 different drivers in mind.  BMWs are more sporting in ride, handling, seating
 position and engine noise.  MBs isolates you from the road, make you feel
 safe, they are heavier and larger.  I’m comparing them model for model – not
 the 325 vs the E320.  What do you think??

How is this done and have you had any trouble woth the "law"

I’m thinking about buying new rims and tires for my 96 M3.  Any info on how
 much the stock M3 rims go for sale as used these days?  I have the 17 inch
 rims with different settings in front and back.  

After changing batteries in my service computer everything worked properly
for some months, but now  3 instruments has gone crazy.

I`m thinking of the service indicator ..-no lights
                           tachometer- jumping around like crazy
                           econometer-dead or frozen in one position.

All this problems seem to come from the same source, and I thought it to be
a bad connection or grounding. However, having dismantled everything,
sprayed it whith electro-cleaner, the problem still`s there.

I have almost given up now, but living with a BMW without a tach is
impossible.

Is there anybody out there who have had the same problems, and found a cure
for it?

I would be forever grateful to the person who helped me to cure this
"BMW-blues"

it has electric windows, central locking, leather rimmed steering wheel and
ABS Braking.  It has covered 79,00 miles and has a Full Service History.

Does anyone have the BMWcross bars for the 525 or 530 Touting and want
to sell them?

I get water in the trunk everytime it rains – can’t find the source.  I feel
like I have examined everything – antenna, trunk seal, etc.  Any ideas?

I have an annoying ticking sound in my dash that starts when I exceed
35 mph and keeps ticking until about 75 mph. Very annoying, any
suggestions?

Hi, I’m buying a used car and I’m looking at a 1981 320i with automatic
transmission. It’s also got a/c,sun roof,cassette and it’s a four door.
Obviously, I don’t know much about BMWs but could anyone help me out on
things to look for with this car? Possibly some problem areas I need to be
concerned with?
I would really appreciate any help. Since my budget is limited and I need a
car now, after all the things I’ve looked at, I’d hate to buy a boring old
Ford Tempo if I could get a BMW, wouldn’t you?
