Discussions about BMW vehicles

Does anyone know how much difference I’d see in grip between VR rated tires
compared to ZR?  I certainly don’t need the higher speed rating, but I wonder if
the ZR’s are softer and stick better.

I’m thinking of switching from 225/55-15 ZR’s to 225/50-15 VR’s,
possibly 235′s if they’ll fit on the stock rims and not rub on the front.  It’s
a  ’94 BMW 325is with the sport pkg and spoke type stock wheels.

(BTW, nobody makes 225/55-15′s in VR’s, hence the diff. #’s)

It rocks, men!

Does anyone have any info on when the new 3 series will arrive on dealer
showroom floors in the U.S.?

Also, when, U.S. dealers will be able to take orders on the new 3-series
(not just a deposit for a place in line, but an actual order).

I’ve seen vague references on U.S. availability being mid to late summer,
but am wondering if anyone has any better information.

I purchased an an 89 seven a week ago and today I noticed that  the
exhaust pipe is emitting very thick fumes or smoke on idle….  Any body
got an idea what this may be??

I have been trying to find any info I can on JPS model BMWs and was hoping
that you might be able to help me with this
The reason I am trying to find out more is that I have recently purchased
an E30 model 323i, which has JPS mods on it..which I thought were just
added by the previous owner, seeing as the car is Polaris (Silver) in
colour and not black with gold stripes. But what has bemused me is that in
the log books..at the time of it’s original sale…it states that the car
is a 1985 323i JPS
So if you can help me I would really appreciate it :)

Does anyone know what the Anti-knock Index (AKI) is?  The manual of my
car says to use AKI 87, corresponding to Research Octane 91 RON.  What
does this mean???

Soon to take delivery of new 323i Tourer. Car will be supplied with BMW’s
standard Business RDS head unit, and also their CD autochanger.  Like most
ex factory audio, I will not be surprised if this system is somewhat weak
on bass and will probably benefit from an appropriate enhancement.
Does anyone have any information on this head unit, and also BMW’s standard
speakers?

The local dealer told me that service manuals aren’t available for a
1998 M3 and  (I wanted
it for reference) all their data is on microfich.

Is this true for all new BMWs? Are sources  such as AllData, Haynes,
etc.  current for the 1998 year?? Any other sources?
