E39 headlamp removal

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:07 am

I have got some condensation in one of the headlamps. It seams to be in the
front cover rather than the light unit itself.

It also looks like you can remove that cover, can you? Theres 3 visable
clips on the top of the unit but it still doesnt budge

Any ideas?

E34 (525TD) Boost/Turbo Pressure Sensor: can't find it!

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:06 am

I took of my inlet housing (don’t know the exact English term), and
noticed a rubber hose of about 7 mm diameter, 30 cm long, connected to
the bottom of the inlet housing (there it is again). But, it’s not
connected to anything else.
According to TIS (BMW Garage CD-ROM) it should be connected to the
Boost/Turbo Pressure Sensor (in Dutch: Vuldruksensor), but the CD-ROM
doesn’t tell me where to find it.

Can someone explain to me where I can find this sensor?
It’s a ’95 BMW 525 TD.

Thanks in advance.

Urgent: Help for BMW film wanted

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:06 am

Hi Guys, I tried google, but it did not help.

Most of us will know the fabulous films produced for BMW, starring Clive
Owen as "The Hire". These short movies are still available at
www.bmwfilms.com

I remember that BMW launched another internet film project after these
"The Hire" movies. My memory plays tricks on me, but I believe that they
featured Dennis Hopper and the title was something like "The death of an
Idea". If my memory serves me right, the movie was somewhat interactive,
although I found it mainly boring when I saw it a few years ago. Now I
need every info about this movie I can get, because I want to write
something about this  in an article about internet marketing.

Quick help really appreciated.

Tyre compare chart for Europe

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:06 am

Hi all! Is there a site with a tyre compare chart for tyres sold in Europe
(like we can find one in TireRack for the US)?
I’ve been to the makers sites, but one can’t compare caracteristics on
different models and there’s no feed-back from custumers…
Thanks,

Mwerks.com, Relatively New BMW Website

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:05 am

I’m helping out with a new BMW website at http://www.mwerks.com . We’re
trying to help spread the word that it’s now online and hope to build it
into one of the better BMW portals out there. Hopefully you’ll agree.

Let me know what you think (good or bad) at geo…@vortexmediagroup.com

Looking for a 2004 525i (in California)

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:04 am

Hi all –

What should I expect when  I inquire about ’04 525i?  Are they
discounting the vehicles?  I’m just looking for the one with automatic
transmission, std options such as A/C, power seats, moonroof,
leatherette is fine – so just your pretty basic 5 series.

Any suggestions on dealers to go to?  I live in Ventura County…

Let me know…..

SMG questions

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:04 am

I have a 2004 M3 with SMG. One of the selling points of SMG is that it
matches engine and transmission rpm when downshifting. However, I have
noticed that the matching only occurs if your foot is on the
accelerator when downshifting. If your foot is on the brake or not on
either pedal, the clutch is engaged with the engine at lower than
matching rpm, and the car lurches forward. I have taken to rolling my
foot in a heel-toe type fashion to avoid this. If the accelerator is
depressed even the slightest amount, the controller matches the rpm.

Now, my questions are:

1. Do others observe this behavior? I asked the dealer at the break-in
service, and they said that they were aware of the behavior, and
nothing could be done about it. (i.e. They all do that…)

2. Is there some reason why this behavior is desirable from a
performance standpoint? My thought is that the last thing I want when
decelerating and downshifting while entering a corner is to have the
balance of the car upset by this abrupt onset of engine braking. Am I
missing something?

TIA

M3 Gear Frame

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:54 am

Anyone know if you can install an M3 gear frame on another e46 3 series?
What I’m talking about is pictured here:

http://www.bmwworld.com/pics/engine/1666_832.jpg

That’s an SMG frame and shifter but I’m sure there is a 5 or 6 speed
version. What I like the most is the frame and I was wondering if anyone
has tried installing it in another 3 series. Thanks!

FS: 2000 Z3 ROADSTER

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:54 am

Year 2000 Z3 Roadster with 60K miles located in Austin, Tx.  Complete
with new Rag Top, Inspection 2 and new Dunlops on the rear.  The color
is Sienna Red with tan top and tan leather.  Great condition in and
out.

I need something more appropriate for kid hauling.  I’m thinking
Quad-Cab diesel.

Garage kept and babied!  Twas fun but duty calls.

Blue Book says 16k or so.  I’d like a little more considering the new
rag, tires and inspection 2 but I’m flexible some.
