I almost got slapped the other day…I was walking up to my 540i right
as a young woman was strolling by. I actuated the remote door opener
and the car made the normal sound which the young woman interpreted as
me whistling at her. She whirled around and glared at me and said
angrily "How could you?". I got into my car as I replied "I couldn’t
drive home otherwise."

I dont think people like the shrill alarm going off in their ear, it
irritates me too. Better wait till they pass on before you hit the remote.
