What would happen if I drive a 1992 525i to its electronic speed
governor? Do I feel a big bang or the engine slowly lose power? If the
engine loses power, what’s the top speed the car will go?
Thank you

When I run into the rev limiter on my 325i it cuts off the fuel supply which
causes the motor to abruptly cut out – it then catches again when the revs
fall a little. I would compare it to the exact opposite of what happens when
your ABS kicks in and the pedal begins to pulse. Your engine goes "vroom-die
vroom-die vroom-die" Sorry about the silly description but that’s what it
feels like in words.

Fuel delivery will decrease…the result is pretty smooth…nothing
drastic.
