I was over at the chrysler pages and there was an article on oil filters,
and they said that FRAM made the poorest quality filters. Well, I use
FRAM filters on my 89 325IS. Anybody got any experience with oil filters?

Lots of BMW owners have had less than satisfactory experience with them.
Check with BMW to see if the filters void your warranty. If they do, it
is a signal even if your car is out of warranty.
For short periods in the 70′s BMW used Fram air filters as OEM. The
previous comments apply to oil filters only
