97 M3 air pump, it it necessary?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:40 am

Hi all I found the air pump in the M3 and suspect it is used to reduce
emissions and ultimately power. Is this so? and is it necessary for the car
to run properly?
Thanks
I live in Australia by the way.

BMW diesel

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:40 am

Any rumors on whether or not BMW plans to ship diesels to the US by the time
the fuel is cleaner?
I’ve heard that premium diesel may be available in 2006+.
It seems to be the only reason BMW will not risk starting a new market.

E36 BMW 328 coolant problem . . .

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:39 am

1998  auto .

the "check coolant light comes on , and the coolant is gone.

i drive and then like magic the coolant is right below the fill line.
got to be more than the hot engine bringing the collant back up.
and then sometimes the coolant is fine when cold.

I have recently purchased a new M3, what petrol do you recommend using
unleaded or super unleaded (I am based in the UK)?

Thanks in advance.

emission test failed

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:38 am

Does anyone know where to start looking: my e34 M50 525 failed emission
test, too high hc value, about 150, max acceptable value is 100.  This is on
idle speed, at 2000 rpm it’s only about 25 hc.

I changed the spark plugs, no effect to the idle hc value. So what is
wrong???

What my Dad (a PE) did when the State of Ohio originally authorized
him to place ‘Botts Dots’ only on the *curves* of the southeastern
Ohio roads under his supervision: "We either put them on the *whole*
road or on *none of the road*."

They authorized more.

Reassurance sought

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:12 am

Hi guys,

Just to verify that I am not wasting my time by trying to restore my BMW
to a more or less reliable vehicle.

I am talking about a E30 325i Touring with 137k mls on the clock. I would
have thought
that the mileage is fairly reasonable (considering the age) and that I
should have a couple of
years before any major problem should occur. I just had the cambelt replaced
and am now looking
to replace all the brakes and relays.

That’s pretty much it.

Any feedback welcome.

Ugly Stickers II

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:12 am

I tried to use a hair dryer to remove the stickers, but they are not a
"sticker" as such. They are more like a decal which you can’t just peel off.

I’d like to try using the "Goof Off" as was suggested, but would like to
hear from someone that has actually done this. I’m afraid of getting a gooey
white/yellow mess on the visors.

Do I actually just apply the stuff to the sticker as it is, without trying
to remove it in any way?

Thanks
