When is the E46 due for replacement?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:41 am

I’m looking at getting a 330i Sport and was wondering when the next
3-series is due. Any Bangle influence?

  1. From what I’ve heard on this and other newgroups, 2005 is the last model
year for the e46 coupe/sedan, with production scheduled thru the end of Feb.
2005. The e90 coupe/sedan will take over in March ’05 (as 2006 model, also
to be called the 3-series). Apparently M3 will continue being built as an
    e46 through 2005, with e90 replacement sometime in 2006.

I’ve seen some "spy shots", of dubious quality, of e90 test cars, and I
personally can’t tell that much about it yet. It probably will have some
Bangle influence as it’s been in the pipeline for awhile, but perhaps not as
much as people fear. Saw one shot of the front, which some said was
p-shopped, but which looked pretty cool to me. Big question is the rear
treatment, and I personally have seen no definitive pix of it yet.

  2. I asked the guy whom attended to my purchase and he said last quarter of 2005.

    Cheers,
    Danny

I found these a few months ago:

A "friend of a friend" who works for BMW UK says the E90 will be available
to buy in the UK in March 2005.  I am not so sure this is correct as most
    press seems to think Q42005.

Also, its hard to know what the cars will look like because a lot of the
pictures are either disguised or of pre-prod test cars.

Europe usually gets a new model 6 months, or so, before we see them here in
the US. A European release of March 2005 makes a US debut the Fall of 2005.
This measures nicely with what I have been reading.
